02 Apr I Meant To Do It But…
We have all been there…sweating bullets, anxiously looking at the clock while your deadline looms. You knew this was coming, yet something held you back from tackling the task within a timely manner. This my friend, is procrastination, the creativity killer.
Procrastination causes a domino of emotions and events culminating in the death of what was once a great idea.
Great Idea →Stress & Anxiety Triggered→Procrastination→Deadline Missed→Loss of Opportunity→🙁
Creativity is an important virtue in the Event Planning business, however, allowing procrastination to seep into your business can cause lasting (and sometimes irreversible) damage to your reputation and your finances.
Procrastination is primarily caused by some type of fear. Fear of failure, even fear of success. The key is to determine the root of your procrastination….as the old adage goes, “Know Oneself”. Once you discover what causes you to procrastinate, deal with that and move forward.
Facing your fears headon is the perfect remedy for procrastination, the creativity killer. Believe me, overcoming your fears will no doubt culminate in feelings of great accomplishment and therefore, giving your confidence the boost it needs to propel you in a positive direction.
Are you a procrastinator? If so, how has this affected your life? How did you overcome? Comment below as you never know how your experience may help another.
As always, WE would like to wish you the best in all that you do! This is Allyson Wynn signing off and may all your events be a “Wynning Experience”!
