To Oktoberfest or Not…It seems to Be All About Beer

To Oktoberfest or Not…It seems to Be All About Beer

The king of all beer festivals takes place every year in Munich, Germany. While many see this as an opportunity to expand their hoppy palates, Event Planners view it as a chance to offer a client a unique and fun experience.

The name “Oktoberfest” on its face makes one think that this festival actually takes place exclusively in the month of October. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Oktoberfest starts in the last week of September, only to come to a conclusion in October.

So you think that Oktoberfest is all about beer, huh? Not so, this 200 year old festival provides much more that a nice buzz and giggles for beer lovers. Oktoberfest has a smorgasbord of activities for those wish to expand their experience beyond beer.

If beer is not your steelo, Oktoberfest has a “wine tent” where you can sip on a variety of wines and champagne. Or do you have a client that is a foodie? Oktoberfest fills the bellies of attendees with a choice of over 140 food stands and restaurants. Juicy grilled brats, yummy strudels, Bretzels, grilled fish on a stick (Steckerlfisch), Quark cheese, and so much more!

There is something for everyone at Oktober, so don’t be shy about offering this locale to your clients. Have you ever planned an event for Oktoberfest? What was your experience? Post your comments and questions below.

As always, WE would like to wish you the best in all that you do! This is Allyson Wynn signing off and may all your events be a “Wynning Experience”!
