Gratitude is the Attitude Thanking Your Event Staff
There is never an event where the Event Planner does it all themselves. It takes a team of skilled individuals to bring a client’s vision into fruition. Just as we scold those who do not live up to their duties, we should also show as much vigor and enthusiasm when thanking those who have assisted in the success of the event. There are countless ways to show your staff that you really value and appreciate them. It can be a grand gesture such as taking your staff on an exotic vacation or as simple as sending flowers. Go ahead, get creative with your appreciation! Studies show that employees that feel appreciated by their employer work twice as hard and are much more loyal and efficient.
Ways to Thank Your Event Staff
● Handwritten “Thank You” Cards or Notes
● Flower or Gift Baskets
● Gift Cards or Certificates
● A Public “Shout Out” (If given the chance at the end of an event publicly announce your gratitude for the staff that made it happen and/or during the post event staff meeting.)
● Spa Days
● Tickets to concerts, professional league games, or other events
***Recognize effort. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we miss the mark. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t work our fannies off. Recognize and reward effort too. This is motivation to do an even better job the second time around.
Gratitude is the feeling or quality of being grateful or thankful. Saying, “thanks” is one of the most heartfelt things a person can do. Your staff know this and will respect you all the more. They will know that their services truly matter and are not taken for granted. This is just more good Karma coming your way!
Remember, a little gratitude goes a long way. Acknowledging the awesomeness of your event staff has many rewards. There are so many things to be grateful for and when you as the Event Planner see and embrace the value of your team, only positivity will blossom. High quality work, more smiles, more laughs, more efficiency, more happy clients, more business, more money…it’s that simple. Gratitude may cost you money, but your returns are well worth every penny spent.
